Nikon unveils 10.2 megapixel DSLR camera 'D80' in Korea

NEW YORK, USA (AVING) -- Nikon Imaging Korea unveiled its new 10.2 M pixel DSLR camera 'Nikon D80' in Seoul, Korea.




The successor to the Nikon D70 and D70s, it features effective 10.2M pixel CCD sensor, 230,000 pixel 2.5-inch LCD with a wide viewing angle, and powerful image processing engine that promises to offer high quality image and color reproduction.




Yamaguchi, CEO of Nikon Imaging Korea, said that Nikon has been contributing the diffusion of DSLR camera with D200 and D70 and the D80 is a principal item for Nikon getting high marks in various aspects like image quality, portability, usability, and price. Nikon will continue to try to increase market share by broadening the product line up.


Meanwhile, Nikon presented a dedicated zoom lens for DSLR camera ‘AF-S DX ZOOM NIKKOR ED 18-135mm F3.5-5.6G(IF)’ and a telescopic zoom lens for both DSLR and film SLR camera ‘AF-S VR ZOOM NIKKOR ED 70-300mm F4.5-5.6G(IF)’ at the launching show together with the D80.

The D80 will be released in the market as of September, 1 while the AF-S DX ZOOM NIKKOR ED 18-135mm F3.5-5.6G(IF) in September and ‘AF-S VR ZOOM NIKKOR ED 70-300mm F4.5-5.6G(IF)’ in October in each.

No word on pricing yet.
