We have gone from 16 all they way down to 4...And we have lost three local teams each round, lets hope with only 3 teams left the streak doesnt continue.
   Lets start with my semi-surprise team Los Altos, why do I call them a semi-surprise team you ask? Well at the beggining of the season this is where i expected them to be but then something happened and they scrared all of us by almost letting any hope of even making the playoffs slip away, but thankfully they found that fire from the beggining of the season and got hot again and got themselves into the playoffs and now one game away from the championship game...the onyl thing in the way of that is El Dorado, a team that had their way with Diamond Ranch. My honest opinion is that who ever wins this game will find themselves CIF champioins the following week.
   The winner of that game will take on the winner of the Charter Oak vs Trabuco Hills game. CO had their way last week with South Hills and earned a goose egg in a 35-0 rout, while TH squeaked by West Covina 14-6. Bottom line, as long as CO doesnt look ahead, welcome to the championship game.
Changing divisions, what about colony embarrassing Muir with a 44-7 beating. They will be at home this friday night against Canyon Springs, who demolished a respectable Colton team 51-27. Omar Bouldin better have the game of his life and the home crowd better drink about 20 energy drink per person cause Colony is going to need them. Not that i dont think Colony cant win. but i am afriad the Muir game could have made them a bit to big headed and have them thinking they are invinsable when they really aren't. dont get me wrong yes they are a good team and yes they deserve to be in the semis but Canyon is a good tough team.
    Talk about a team that had there hands full, the Damien Spartans saw there season come to an end at the hands of of #40 Chris Pesiniella and Temescal Canyon. You want to talk about a team with a small play book. I have come to they conclusoin they only have three play and they run one of them 97.5% of the time. There playbook is, hand it off to #40, or fake the handoff to #40 and have the qb keep it and run it on the outside, or do the same thing but instead have the qb roll out and then pull up and pass it. But no metter what #40 has something to do with it. Once the offense broke the huddle they would all sprint to the line and snap the ball on the first sound the qb made. Never allowing the spartan defense to adjust. Offensively Mendrun was running to escape a sack all night long. TC blitzed as much as they gave the ball to #40, in other words, constantly, and it would come from everywhere the the line backers, the safeties, usually from both sides as well. Its not that Damien didnt play well, they just could never get anything going on offense od defense.The 50 some odd man roster was to much for them. TC will stay at home to take on Chaparal, a team the embarrassed the #1 team in the bracket and #4 team in the state (as i was told), a team that everyone, including me would walk through the bracket and take home the championship. But Temescal Canyon played Chaparal in week 8 and only lost by a touchdown 35-28 so this should be a great match up.
   Overall i would have to say i am dissapointed in the overall matchups in the semifinals, I dont feel that there are too many must see matchups. That has nothing to do with the fact that there are only a few of our local teams left. If I had to pick 1 game each night, on Friday night i would jump in my truck and head out to El Dorado to see them take on Los Altos because I have a good feeling the winner will take it all the next week, and it should be one heck of a matchup.  And on saturday I would do everything in my power to find a time machine so that way I could Redlands take on Norco, two powerhouses and like the forementioned the winner will probably the victorius one in the week following But since that doesnt exist, I would then make the drive out to Temescal Canyon to see a week 8 rematch between them and Chaparal.
    But to end on a positive note, congrats to the teams that have made it this far and to the teams at home, this is just more motivation for the off season to work harder, for there is always next season, and it will be here before you know it

ending of all endings

its 11:41 thursday night and i am still on a rush from the ending of one of the craziest and greatest games of all times. Who would of thought at half time when the score was 21-10 that the games would come down to the most controversial ending of all times. And many of you may of thought i was kidding when i said the refs could determine the outcome of this game but boy did they. but lets look at a few other things before we jump the refs. Chino Hills had so many chances to put this game away, but they couldnt do it. They fumble on the 10, didnt make the interception on damiens final drive. they didnt finish drives in the fourth qt. Damien had so many chances to capitalize before there final drive, and like chino hills didnt do it, until the very last second...literally. People are still wondering what exactly happened tonight. with 6 seconds they run a dive play from the 3 yd line and dont get in as time ticks down fans from chino hills storms the field as well as the players there were people everywhere. some where in all that commotion and supposedly with time somehow left on the clock damien managed to get set over the ball for at least a second and talk the ball and run through players and fans into the endzone and have it counted for a touchdown... you want to talk about a group of officials running from the field, they were so far gone before Coach Roach had any idea what happened. They Chino Hills huskie coaching staff was standing on the 5 yd line asking each other what had happened and going over what they had seen. i think the worst thig i heard all night is when a damien fan yelled out, "This is your payback for the fifth down against upland roach!!!!", i am sorry but niether team deserve to lose this game its unfortunate i would have much rather had this game end in overtime with no controversy at all and for some to say that shows no class...sorry if you disagree. If this is any preview of what we expect to see come playoff time bring it on baby i cant wait.

final destination week

        Ok so here it is the week that many of us have been looking forward to since preseason...so much is riding for so many teams for just one night. As everyone probably already knows i cant wait for the showdown in chino hills thursday night. damien vs chino hills, if goes as planned could be the best game all season, each team has its strengths and weakness but if u ask me, when u break down the teams, where chino hills i feel lacks damien excels and vice versa so this should be a great matchup. As far as Harris's injury is concerned ive learned that the injury is not major at all he was taken out for precautionary reasons last week and it was never even a question whether he would be starting this week or not (but we already new that part). I think the biggest factor and the one point i hear brought up alot is the advantage in the coaching department...this is old hat for Roach he has been deep in the playoffs, dealt with controversy (who can ever forget that extra down situation in playoffs when he was at db) i am not saying Morrison is a bad coach, I think Roach has the experience and is that good, i think he'll compete with John Monger for best coach in this area all time, of course this all depends on how long Roach stays around. I think the worst of it all if Damien wins there is no way they are going to get the number 1 seed like they should all because they havnet been ranked in most polls (which is wacked).       Ok next situation, how are suppose to feel for a team like Los Altos, everyone had them as a power house at the begging of the season and then midway through the meet up with the toughest oppenent every, themselves, and drop 4 straight games, the manage to pull off two wins in league and get them into contention for a layoff spot but, they have no control of their fate, the have to sit back and watch from the stands to see if they are going to make it, do you feel sorry for them if they dont make it cause they finished well, do we say the deserve what they get because playoff teams find ways to win when they need to, its not our fault they "took part of the season off"
     How about the job Tom Martinez has done with that squad up at Los Osos, ok no joke, that offense is so potent i do not think we have seen it all though and i am not saying they are holding back at any means. If that offense ever fired at all cylinders there is not a defense around that would be able to stop. there speed with hogan is unreal and not only does he have speed he has mass and lower the shoulders pads up the gut to get the tough yards. but that is were chase prevails becasue of his size he is great between the tackles but he has speed and agility to go with it, just look at my highlight from last week and his 49 yd run right before half. and their quaterback can throw precistion passes and does a good job of controlling the game. I think the grizzlies could have an offensive explosion this week against a struggling cougar team. Plusthey have a chance to go 5-0 in what i feel is toughest league around, and remember where they were predicted to finsh, 2nd, 2nd to last in front another playoff bound team etiwanda.
    My last game i am going to talk about real quickly is my upset special, Ayala over Chino, i know i have been tough on both teams this year, but look at the big picture Ayala has nothing to lose and everything to gain ( 1 win), the pressure is all on the saddle of the cowboys. first of all if they go 1-4 in league you better watch out because it is going to be ugly and you dont think people wont be begging for Monger to come back( although there is no way that will happen) plus if in there last game they lose to a 0-9 team, and not only that they are going to become on of their biggest rivals only win, you dont think the players and staff wont hear about all offseason, people going around saying they were Ayala's only win, it could be pretty ugly.

     OK so let me hear, tell how crazy i am or that i do not know what i am talking about haha. Also what team do you think is going to make big noise in playoffs that has flown under the radar during the season, Los Altos(if they make it), Glendora, Upland(if they make it) or just the oppiste should have made it but didnt ( i guess we'll have to wait until after thursday night to respond to this part). OK let me hear you guys, and dont be afraid to come say hi thursday night. Only 16 hours and 33 minutes, not that anyone is counting!!!!!

alright everyone so first week in league is done and so its to early to say much but lets look at a few things...upland drops their first game but they are not out of the pic, fortunately for them they are in the toughest league around as far as i feel and with a win they will be tied for second and in that league that is not a bad place to be because the teams are so even anyone can win...who thinks etiwanda's upset was a gift from the refs or are the for real? they best thing about all this is if rancho beats up land this week they still are only going to be in tie for first because botth los osos and etiwanda are undefeated and play each other thursday night so someone will be 2-0.
    Next league sierra, chino hills looked shakey and i think my placement of damien over chino hills is looking stronger and stronger. but give credit to chino they look good but i have never seen a team throw so many screen passes. I think i got the best question of the season right here, will manny siaz be able to deal with all the pressure and criticism he will get if he when he finishes this season with a losing record something that school is definitaly not use to? Dont get me wrong i think Manny is a great guy, i think he just to big of shoes to fill. John Monger is a legend at that school, that city, and teams that played him. For him and his team to even lose was unacceptable now they are faced with losing season. Damien looked good against one-dimensional glendora but i still think damien gave up to many yards on the ground against an offense that has is no threat in the passing department. Than there is ayala and diamond bar, what a game....all i can say is offensive struggle or defensive showcase?
    Well chaffey can pretty much so there hope of another league champs vanishing in the end as their star running back was given the boot from the team...and they showed what kind of team we could expect from them with out Green and it wasnt pretty as Omar Bouldin ran the show. Colony can pretty much cruise into playoffs i think and they are going to need cause they are going playoff teams that can beat anyone there schedule this season with ease.
    What do you guys think about the whole damien glendora situation with the fielgoal with 3 seconds left and already a blowout? How about the refs throwing a celebration penalty as the high steps into the endzone for the winning score in a great and very close game? Or what that whole fourth down situation at Chino Hills which i heard people talking about that tonight when i was out at dinner.

So as we have discussed on the show Damien is all over the poles and or not even on the poles at all what is up with that. I honestly wish i could have put damien higher in our poll...originally i had damien in the number 3 spot but i realize i had to move them down when i had them above Los Altos who defeated them so i had to change mytop 10 around. Enough with Damien lets talk about the Top 10 Teams That Mash do you think we did it right, tell me if you think i left a team or pumped a team up to much. Im sure alot of you are starting to think that i have ties to Damien and Rancho Cucamonga with all the props i give them on the show but honestly i have nothing connecting me to either team.

This is just the first blog of many to come...we wanted to get something up real quick so we could start a dialogue and interaction with the fans so feel free to bring up any topics you wanted and i will be on to check out your responses and topic suggestions daily
